Using AI To Blog

Are you a busy small business owner looking for ways to create content more efficiently? Do you struggle with finding the time to write blog posts or social media updates? If so, you might be interested in exploring the use of voice notes and AI transcription software to help you streamline your content creation process.

In a recent episode of the My First Million podcast, the hosts discussed how some people are using AI to transcribe blog posts and podcasts, which can then be turned into written content. This got me thinking about how I could use this approach to create content while on the go, such as during my daily commute.

To test this out, I decided to record a voice note while driving to work, and then use AI transcription software to transcribe the audio file. Although I am an Apple user, I found that Siri was not able to create a voice note hands-free, so I will be exploring other options such as Google voice notes in the future.

The benefits of using voice notes and AI transcription software are clear: they can save time and increase efficiency in your content creation process. As a slow typer myself, I know how much time it can take to manually type out a blog post or social media update. By using voice notes and AI, I can create content more quickly and easily, without sacrificing quality.

Of course, there are some potential downsides to this approach as well. For example, the AI transcription may not always be 100% accurate, so it's important to review the transcript carefully before turning it into a blog post. Additionally, it can be challenging to create a logical flow and structure for the post when working from a free-flowing voice note.

Despite these challenges, I believe that the benefits of using voice notes and AI transcription software for content creation are worth exploring. By leveraging these tools, small business owners like myself can save time and focus on other important tasks, while still producing high-quality written content for our audience.

If you're interested in trying this approach yourself, here are the steps you can take:

By following these steps, you can turn your spoken thoughts into polished written content, without spending hours typing away at your keyboard.

In conclusion, using voice notes and AI transcription software can be a powerful tool for busy small business owners looking to create content more efficiently. Although there may be some challenges to overcome, the potential benefits are significant, and I believe it's worth exploring this approach if you're looking for ways to streamline your content creation process.

This blog post was created using Apple's Voice Memos app. I then ran the file through Descript on my computer and copied and pasted that into ChatGPT and asked the simple question of changing this transcript into a blog post. It's not perfect but you can see with some tweaks you can come up with something great and create content whilst on the move and with a little time after having a blog ready to post. I will use this feature again in my business but do a better job of tweaking it after, I just wanted to leave this one so you can see the outcome straight from ChatGPT. Bellow, I have the original transcript which worked perfectly from the audio file.

The Dumb Geek

As I've previously mentioned, I'm not much of a writer in listening to the My First Million podcast gave me some ideas and, and about how I can use AI and how people were using AI to, uh, transcribe blog posts and turn those. Also transcribe podcasts and turn those into blog posts. And so one, I figured like maybe one of my ways of writing content is squeezing this stuff in amongst my busy life, running a business and with a family and everything like that is using up and utilizing my drive time as, um, to and front projects and stuff like that.

So, I figured I'll try a, a voice note to do this, and then I'll find some transcribing software and write about that in the blog post of how you can create content while driving or whatever else. I'm sure with this, it's going to be some hiccups. Hiccups are gonna be, um, it's free flowing. I'm not, I have no script.

Or no real idea. And this is not something I've done before. Maybe not a podcast. Um, to be frank, I don't even like the sound of my own voice like most people. But this is gonna be a great way of producing content, um, and helping me with the social media side and the content side of business. That's such a.

Big part of business these days, and I run a small business. There's four of us currently. Um, social media and all that stuff is something I've been doing with the help of a, a true geeky friend, uh, who has been helping with, with a lot of that stuff. And so this being a kind of solo venture without any help and trying to prove the use of ai.

This is one of the ways I'm thinking could help help me within that business and within this block post, uh, I haven't tried it. I haven't even looked into it yet, just heard about it and wanted to play with it and see the pros and cons of it, how much I'd create just on. 30 minute-ish drive to work Some days, see, some days it's only 10 minutes.

Some days it could be an hour. So this, this is prime time of usually I'd spend listening to podcasts or, or, um, music Sometimes is the prime time to get extra work done or would be more efficient and utilize time. Is otherwise wasted.

The first problem I found is I'm a bit of. Bit of an apple fanboy. Nothing crazy. Um, a lot of my stuff is Apple, though. Have been using Google, uh, predominantly Google for everything to do with the business. Um,

the, what I was hoping was that I'd be able to tell Siri just to start a voice note so it could be completely hands free. Um, unfortunately, That didn't work. So I may have to look into Google or something else that can kind of work with, with this and see if that can be totally hands free, um, including pausing what I'm thinking or whatever else, um, or if courts come in or anything else like that.

But for. I just had to press record and away I am the other way. I think that this could be a huge help. Is Dam a slow typer? Um, I've always been that kind of two finger guy. Um, jealous of those people that can just type away, I guess I've never really tried. And because of that, it's another reason writing content stuff that takes up so much time.

Um, and being able to voice note whilst potentially trying some of these AI things and creating a blog post with that voice note could be a huge help. Speed and just being able to deliver that content. And so that, that itself could save me, I'm sure, you know, an hour a week or something like that depending on how much content I create.

Um, and a lot of this is gonna be about getting time back, how we can use it to help ourselves and how we can. Business in a world where you do have to be wearing a million hats and when you're a small business, that just isn't something you can do. You can't afford to pay someone to do half the stuff for you, or, or, yeah.

It's not in the budget. It's just you need to, you need to be doing a lot of this stuff or just not do it, you know, do the stuff yourself or it's just not gonna get done. Um, this is an interesting test on. How well this will work.
